As many of you know, we launched a Kickstarter campaign in early November after spending a year and a half developing a device that helps older people remain independent for longer. However, after 48 hours we made the decision to cancel our campaign because even at 60% funded, we felt that our project didn’t get the awareness it needed in the first couple of days. Without the opportunity to deliver our best possible campaign, we believed the right decision was to prevent further members of our community from investing in the project at this stage.
After cancelling our campaign on Kickstarter, we’ve been working on a really exciting new direction that we’re looking forward to sharing with you in the new year. The journey of a startup is full of twists and turns and new ideas – that’s what makes it so fun to be a part of! We just wanted to say that we wouldn’t be anywhere without our amazing community, so thank you for all of your support and we hope that you’ll continue to follow us into our new chapter.
🎉 A big thank you 🎉
Building this community has been incredible. Only a few months ago, there were just a small number of people who knew about Kintell, all the hard work we’d been doing and our ambition to change the way we age. However today, we have thousands of people who follow us on social, signed up to our mailing list and sharing our project with friends and family who would benefit from our devices.
We are so grateful for those of you who have been commenting, liking and sharing on social (with a special thanks to our top contributors Ed Arditti, Najeeb Khan and John Carter) and we are in the process of building a plan to create a safe environment where like-minded individuals, who are caring for an ageing parent can share their experiences, advice and support with other people in a similar situation. Please don’t be shy – we love hearing what you think, so leave us a comment or a message on social and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
So what’s next?
We’re working on something really special and hope that you’ll be a part of it. We are continuing to develop our devices with the ambition to make them available in mid-2019. We’ll also be setting up a community on Facebook in the new year, for you to share your stories, ideas and recommendations about caring for your ageing loved ones. As well as sharing our resources and expert advice – in addition to giving you the first opportunity to preorder and receive all the best discounts and deals!
This isn’t the last you’ll hear from us and we really hope that you’ll be joining us for the ride. We’re super excited about what the new year will bring and hope that you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy 2019!
